Structural Design for Bridges & Buildings

- Design and analysis of structural members for bridges and buildings, covering new construction as well as existing structures.
- Verification from preliminary design through to detail engineering in accordance with applicable codes, tailored to constructional boundary conditions and fabrication requirements.
- Assessment, evaluation and strengthening design for existing structures, including damage analysis and determination of residual capacity.
- Through active involvement in standardisation committees, we have thorough knowledge of the limits of current codes. We provide consultancy and carry out verifications where standard design approaches reach their limits, substantiated by analysis.

Structural Research & Structural Mechanics

- Systematic investigation of the structural and deformation behaviour of structures and special constructions, up to the identification of governing failure mechanisms and the development of structural models as a basis for verification.
- FE analyses, parametric studies and nonlinear verifications (GMNIA), numerical and, where required, validated by testing.
- Structural analysis and system verifications for construction products and serial components as a basis for type approval and market introduction.
- Verification in accordance with Eurocode, SIA and international codes, prepared for structural approval review.

Product Development & Engineering (R&D)
Concept Development. Design. Optimisation.
- Analysis and constructional design of serial components and structural systems integrated into the development process, from concept phase through to production readiness.
- Optimisation using FEM and experimental testing as a basis for design models and type calculations, driven by parametric studies. This reduces development cycles and shortens the time to approval.
- Preparation of verification documents for technical approvals and building authority permits.
- Experience in product development for scaffolding and support systems, sheet piles, special steel constructions and strengthening systems for existing structures, among others.

Design & Model-Based Planning (BIM)
BIM Modelling. Digital Tools and Documentation.
- 3D models based on the structural analysis, produced by the same team that carries out the verifications. This reduces coordination effort and avoids transfer errors between analysis and detailing.
- Shop drawings and fabrication drawings generated directly from the BIM model, tailored to the requirements of the steel and metal fabricator.
- Coordination of structural and discipline models for seamless data exchange and fewer interfaces throughout the design chain.
